I am a trial lawyer. While I have handled a variety of different types of cases, my focus has always been on personal injury law. I am an advocate for individuals and families that have been victimized by either individuals or predatory corporations. My passion is helping people get justice.

Throughout my life, I have faced my own challenges that have driven me to become the trial lawyer that I am today. I grew up in Littleton, Colorado and was there at Columbine High School on April 20, 1999, when the Columbine Shooting occurred. The impact of that horrible event motivated me to help people that have gone through difficult and traumatic events. After High School, I went on to play rugby at the University of Wyoming. While there I learned to push myself to my maximum potential and became one of 14 All-American rugby players on the University of Wyoming Rugby team. Our team made numerous final four appearances and was the runner-up in the national championship. It was great to compete at the highest level. Following college, I attended law school at Denver University. At that time, I was not sure if I was a good fit for law school. That was until I took a trial practice class. I loved it! Being a trial lawyer has allowed me to combine my greatest passions – helping people and competition. In 2018, I served as the President of the National Trial Lawyers, Top 40 Under 40. That same year I had a Top 10 Jury Verdict in Colorado. Then in 2021, I had a Top 6 Jury Verdict in Colorado. And last year, in 2022, I had a Top 3 Jury Verdict in Colorado. I am proud to work each day to be the best that I can be. I think the best lawyers are forever learners. My goal is to get 1% better each and every day. This applies in all areas of life. I love spending time with my family, who make me a better person. I enjoy the Colorado outdoors, any type of competition, and weight training.

Being a lawyer is the greatest privilege I could have asked for, and for me it came as a second career.I started my career working for a rental car company as a management trainee.I had just graduated from Stanford University with a degree in psychology that I was not sure how I would ultimately use. I just knew I needed to get to work, and starting in the transportation industry set me on a course that led me to being a trial lawyer, and has been truly rewarding.

After a short stint of being a rental car agent, I got recruited into risk management and insurance claims handling for the rental car company. As a claims adjuster, I personally investigated, evaluated, and negotiated thousands of liability claims. After over a decade I got promoted to claims manager, where I oversaw a claims department and directed litigation strategy for cases involving personal injury, wrongful death, and products liability in fourteen different states. Since almost all litigation at its core involves decision-making by insurance companies, I saw first-hand how my decision-making could have profound effects on people’s lives.

My decision to become a lawyer flowed directly out of my experience with claims handling and claims management.I could take what I knew and use it to help the people who needed it most, usually in a time of crisis in their lives. Managing the lawyers through the claims department made me realize that I needed to go to law school, get my law degree, and be a voice for people who needed help.So after 17 years in the insurance industry, attending law school at night at the University of Denver for the last 4 of those years, I immediately joined Burg Simpson and have been working with the talented team here in Colorado ever since.Being a voice for plaintiffs in the courtroom is an honor and privilege that I am very proud of, and humbled by.
